Since You've Been Gone!

The administrative team and many staff members have been very busy since school got out. Over 70 applications for the first grade position were screened and top candidates were interviewed. The first grade team welcomes Ms. Valerie May to replace Mrs. Laura Barringer who is our new gifted teacher!

In addition, Mrs. Walas is changing from ELL to teaching second grade. Mrs. Uruba will be transferring from third grade teacher at Rutledge to ELL at Todd. In addition, Ms. Eunice Park will be joining the Todd ELL team as a third ELL teacher.

Mr. Brandon Koenig is our new PE teacher that Todd shares with Rutledge Hall. Cindy Colaric will take over while Mrs. Cardwell (Speech) take her maternity leave during the first semester. Mrs. Colaric retired from Woodland School in Gurnee and has not only been a speech therapist, but has taught kindergarten, 2nd grade, and early childhood special education!

Summer workshops, committees, and meetings are occurring almost daily. The gifted curriculum and thinking skills program at Todd are in development. Teachers have voluntarily participated in workshops to learn about Six Traits Writing, How to Support Struggling Readers, and more!

Summer school is over and the cleaning crew has completed their work at Todd Hall in preparation for the new school year beginning on August 26th. Our new multipurpose room floor is being installed.
