What's Happening in room 209?
Tuesday, June 11
Dear Parents-
Well, summer vacation has finally begun. It is hard to believe that all this time has passed. We spent our last day of school talking about what we would be doing in the summer and then going over any questions we might have about second grade. The children are actually wise in recognizing the excitement of it all as well as the anxiousness about what second grade might bring. "Is it going to be hard?" was one of the questions. We talked about the beginning of first grade math and how the children said, "Oh, I know this. I have done this before." And then we went on to discuss that our lessons will start with what they already know and move on to what they will learn to add to their repertoire of skills.
I hope that everyone has a wonderful vacation. I look forward to seeing the children as they pass through the first grade hall on their way to second grade. And parents, you too, will be warmly welcomed as I see you next year in the hall or outside. It has been an honor and a pleasure to teach your beautiful children.
Thank you a million times for the lovely bag that the children made for me with their fingerprint designs on the front. I will cherish this and the great words in your card always.
Keep well and I wish everybody all the best!
 Mrs. Nelson
