End of Year

Can you believe it’s the end of another school year?? This year has flown by and the kids have made so many gains. I wil miss them all and look forward to seeing them run by room in the Fall!
Have fun this summer! Enjoy the outdoors, ride bikes, explore new areas and create wonderful memories. When you are inside and need something to do, offer these suggestions to your child:
•   Put together a puzzle.
•   Design a board game and play it.
•   Practice math facts with playing cards, but practice those math facts!
•   Add up scores and stats from the Cubs or White Sox games.
•   Keep a journal of places you went, things you have done or things you want to do.
•   Go on the Everyday Math website and practice all the concepts studied in 2nd grade. http://www1.center.k12.mo.us/EDTECH/edm/2.htm
•   Play school – have your child teach you something!
•   Sign up for the summer reading program at the Lincolnwood Library.
•   Make a grocery list using advertisements and have your child add up the bill.
•   And of course, READ! Read anything – magazines, newspapers, poems, brochures from vacation, baseball cards – just read.
HAVE A WONDERFUL, SAFE SUMMER AND ALL MY BEST IN 3RD GRADE!
