Whispers of Summer!

May 30, 2008

Dear Loved Ones of Room 403,

The countdown has begun!  There are just 6 more days left of the 2007-2008 school year!   I have already enjoyed listening to all the summer adventures that await the little ones.  Some will be traveling cross country while others will be traveling across the ocean.  The remaining students, as well as myself, will have summer days full of learning opportunities, swimming pool fun, and yummy bar-b-ques!  I am looking forward to plenty of reading.  I already have a shelf full of reading materials that I can't wait to get my hands on.

On Wednesday we had our final kindergarten field trip to Lincoln Park Zoo.  Wow! We had such a beautiful day.  Without the help of our parent volunteers our field trip would not have been such a success.  I would like to formally express my deepest appreciation to the those who were able to share in this experience with us.  Amongst the chaperones who were chosen, I would also like to give a big, "THANK YOU!" to all who were willing to volunteer!

Our final day of school will be on Monday, June 9th.  I am looking to this day with many mixed emotions.  Words seem to escape me as I try to describe the ways in which I feel as I look towards this significant day.  This day will undoubtedly be a poignant one.

Report cards will be sent home with your child on June 9th.  If, for some reason, your child is not in attendance on this day,  his/her report card will be mailed to your home.  Needless to say, I think you will be enormously proud of your child, as I am.

 Have a wonderful weekend!

Very Sincerely,

Miss Sarah E. MunoÂ
