Fall Trees: 2nd Grade project: "Leaves on a Branch"

The 2nd grade classes have been working for 3 weeks on a fall project called, "Leaves on a Branch". The students observed the fall leaf colors. The leaves were painted with watercolors, cut out, and placed on a painted branch. As space allows, many will be hung in the 2nd grade hall for conference nights. I've placed a few examples in the blog, enjoy.

Volunteers Needed for Art

The 1st and 2nd grade art classes have been busy making their Caterpillar and Butterfly projects. The 1st grade caterpillars are almost finished and will be ready for displaying in the main hall next week.

The 2nd grade butterflies will be finished in 2 weeks and will also find a resting place in the halls. They are quite beautiful.

 Volunteers Needed !

We need a parent or two to help with displaying the art work. Especially next week for the 1st grade caterpillars. If anyone is available, please email or call me directly (847) 745-3760. We can set up a time to get them hung.

Thank you in advance for your consideration,

New Year, New Experiences in Art

The school year has started and the art classes for 1st and 2nd grade have been exploring self-portraiture. All the students have drawn pictures of themselves to be used in a project to be completed later in the year.

Ist grade students will be painting next week, so out come the aprons. They will be working on an introductory unit in understanding color called, 'Colorful Caterpillers.' Soon to be in our hallways.
