We've had another busy week of fun and learning. In science we did several experiments as we continue to explore the world of sound and light. All the fairy tale books are in the illustrating process. We have also begun our mystery unit. We started off by reading a Cam Jansen book and discussing terms like - clues, suspect, culprit, evidence, etc. The students have also been learning the art of asking questions both verbally and in written form. In math we began our unit on fractions. Please continue to practice subtraction facts. I am looking forward to see the musical instruments your little inventors will create on Monday March 22. I hope everyone is having a nice long weekend. I can't believe it is March already!! I am looking forward to nicer weather and some more sunshine. Our fairy tales are all typed up and ready to be illustrated. Your children are working very, very hard and they cant wait to share them with you. In writing, we are focusing on writing a complete paragraph. In math, we will begin unit 8. Our next reading unit will be mystery. We have also begun our sound and light unit in Science.
I hope everyone had a nice relaxing weekend. The fairytale ball was a blast. I am sure your kids told you all about it. The Valentine's Day party was also a lot of fun. The kids had a great time playing musical chairs. Thanks to our room moms for always making sure the kids have a good time. We have another busy week ahead of us.This week there will be no spelling. The music show is at 6 pm on Thursday. Please bring your child to school by 5.45 pm that day. They have been very busy practicing and Dr. J has been very impressed with all their hard work. I look forward to seeing all of you then. On Friday we have a field trip scheduled. Please make sure that you send a sack lunch to school.
