1. We finished up our graph for how many medals the United States won in the Winter Olympics. The kids enjoyed following and talking about the athletes who won medals. 2. We started our reading unit on mysteries this week. On Thursday, Ms. Thorstenson came in and did a book talk on mysteries. She gave the kids great ideas for their mystery projects. 3. Mystery projects went home this week. Students need to read a mystery and choose one of the 5 options for a project. They will then be expected to present their project to the class the week of March 22nd. Please look over the packet sent home and let me know if you have any questions.
1. No school on Friday, February 26th and Monday, March 1st. Enjoy the long weekend! 2. This week we started our new science unit, which focuses on the sun, moon, and stars. 3. In math, we have started unit 8 that focuses on fractions. 4. Next week we will start our mystery unit. Keep an eye out next week for a home project to go with the unit! 5. Students are still working hard to publish their Cinderella stories. 6. In writing we are working on writing paragraphs. Students need to include a topic sentences, at least 3 body sentences, and a closing sentence. Each week we will focus on writing a paragraph on a different topic.
