Top 10 For the Week of March 1st to 5th
Here are some of the highlights of our week:
1. Handwriting: We have been working on correct handwriting formation. We practiced C, E, and F.
2. Literacy Centers: We worked on counting and trading coins, literacy games on the computer, decorating umbrellas and shamrocks, writing sentences, and reading and looking at books. Thank you to Josip's mom for helping out with stations this week!
3. Making Meaning: We worked on visualizing using the poem Umbrellas.

4. Math: We worked on counting by 2's, dividing groups of objects in half, and played "read my mind" to find a shape.
5. Writing: We discussed the traits of good writers- Ideas, Organization, Word Choice, Voice, Sentence Fluency, and Conventions.
6. Computers: We played a game that focused on matching beginning sounds.
7. Fountas and Pinnell: We worked on matching uppercase and lowercase letters as well as finding objects for beginning sounds.
8. Social Studies: We discussed Time for Kids about using and managing money.
9. Science: We reviewed everything we have learned so far, and labeled our own plant drawings.
10. Cool Tool: We discussed the concept of stealing-taking something that doesn't belong to you.
