Top Ten for Week of January 11th

Top Ten for Week of January 11th:

1.    We had a great time traveling around the world listening to different versions of Cinderella.  Ask your child what country/book they liked the best.

2.    Next week we will compare fractured Fairy Tales to regular Fairy Tales.  We have been reading “Sleeping Ugly”.  Ask your child what fairy tale it is like.

3.    Your child brought home a book for the Fairy Tale read aloud.  If the book is too hard and lasts longer than 20 minutes, please return it and we’ll get a new one.

4.    We will complete a timeline birthday card about Martin Luther King Jr.  Ask your child what they have learned about him.

5.    We had some interesting behaviors going on this week.  Lots of goofing around and talking.  Please talk to your child about being respectful at school.

6.    In writing we are talking about the importance of voice.  Next week we will concentrate on using voice in our paragraphs about the candy house in Hansel and Gretel.

7.    We completed a map of Lincolnwood Schools as an end to our Maps Unit.  They are hanging in the hall – come check them out!

8.    Practice facts because next week we start double digit addition with regrouping.  A great site to practice is www.aaamath.com Check it out!

9.    We finished our Geometry Unit and will begin addition regrouping next week.

    10. We only have 3 days of school next week.  No school Monday and Friday.
