Healthy Eating/Healthy Fun!

As we are are continuing our Nutrition Study, our main focus this week was dairy and fruit.

We compared the difference between chocolate milk and white milk, we learned to read nutrition fact labels, and we read some amusing literature about eating just to make our study a little fun . Nurse Donna came in on Friday to talk to us about caring for our teeth properly. We are conducting an interesting observation with coke and eggshells that is related to the need for keeping our teeth healthy.

During our Making Meaning segments, the book Our Stars coincided nicely with a story written by Ephraim. His story, Asteroids, Meteors, and Comets written during Writers' Workshop was an excellent addition to the book.

During one of our poetry sessions, we talked about the poetic license that some poetry writers use in order to grab the interest of the reader. Ask us at home what that's about!

In Math, we are enjoying the interesting concept of Fact Triangles and Fact Families. We need lots of practice. Please help us at home.

Our Celebrity of the Week was Joshua. Joshua told us that he loves sports and working with tools. In fact, his favorite toys are construction tools! Josh's favorite book is Tom and Jerry, his favorite animal is a lion, and his favorite sport is soccer. We would like to thank Josh for making our showcase window look so cool!

Our Birthday boy was Christian. Happy Birthday, my boy, and may all your wishes come true!
