Dear Parents,

February 11th marks the 100th day of kinderarten. The 100th day is a huge milestone filled with projects and activities that have to do with the number 100.

February 12th will be a celebration of Abraham Lincoln, focusing on the penny.

February 14th is an early release day. The children are dismissed at 1:35 and the office will close at 2:15. Our class Valentine's Day celebration will be in the afternoon from 12:30-1:15. Please plan to join us if you are available.

The students in room 200 are off to a Terrific New Year! They are each working on alphabet books to review letter identification and letter sound association. In small groups we read books that are at their reading level. During whole group shared reading, the skill of story retelling is our focus.

In the area of mathematics we have learned several games that can be played using a variety of different cards. Students should be able to put numbers in order from 0-30 and be able to identify less than and greater than.

At the end of January report cards will be sent home evaluating your child's progress from the beginning of the school through January 2008.
